Scaling with Purpose, Aptvision’s Journey of Growth
A little about Aptvision for background; founded in 2012 Aptvision has grown over the past 13 years to an organisation employing over 50 people in Ireland, Poland, UK and Mexico. Since 2021, there has been 150% growth in the team size, mirroring the market success and growing customer base. The team is expected to grow to 60+staff over the next 12 months as more projects come on line, a pattern CEO Marek Wierzbicki and the company board plays close attention to. This blog shares some of my personal insights to being part of the Aptvision team;
It’s hard to believe it’s been two years since I was first introduced to Aptvision and began working with the Wierzbicki family. What started as a new professional chapter has turned into something much more significant, broadening my perspective, sharpening my understanding of healthcare systems, and helping shape meaningful progress across imaging networks.
One of the greatest benefits of this journey has been learning to see complexity from multiple angles. In the world of healthcare IT, especially when working with legacy systems, it's easy to feel boxed in, as if the current situation is the only possible version of reality. But working with Aptvision has helped me appreciate how much clarity can come from looking at workflows across multiple roles and skill sets, understanding where challenges lie, and collaboratively building better solutions.
That shift in perspective has directly contributed to how we’ve evolved our RIS offering. We’re not just improving a product, we’re delivering real efficiency and value across entire imaging networks.
Refining through Repetition
One of the most valuable and perhaps unexpected sources of growth over the past two years has been the learning that comes through repetition. Working with a variety of clients facing similar challenges has allowed me to recognise recurring patterns, common bottlenecks, and broader themes across healthcare systems. These kinds of insights are often difficult to see when you’re immersed in the day-to-day, but taking a step back has brought a new level of clarity. Repeated exposure to these scenarios has refined my understanding and enhanced the depth and impact of the work we deliver not just for individual clients, but across the wider imaging network.
A Culture of Curiosity and Care
What truly sets Aptvision apart is the team. Everyone is genuinely invested not just in the product, but in how it supports safe, efficient, and high-quality healthcare. I probably bombard them with more questions than they’d like, but no idea is ever dismissed. Every suggestion is thoughtfully considered, with one core question always top of mind: Could this bring value to other clients?
That mindset creates a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and respect. And it makes it a pleasure to be part of.
A Shared Journey of Success - My Reflections on Growth, Impact, and the Road Ahead at Aptvision
Since joining Aptvision, I’ve had the privilege of contributing to a range of impactful projects and successful implementations across Ireland, the UK, Scotland, and Spain. Being part of a company that consistently prioritises meaningful and measurable outcomes for its customers has been both motivating and rewarding. I am proud to have played even a small part in Aptvision’s success and progress.
Over the past few years, our momentum has only accelerated. What stands out most is the remarkable growth Aptvision has experienced since 2018. In just a few short years, we have moved from being a trusted provider of radiology scheduling solutions to securing large-scale contracts with major NHS Trusts, Private Hospitals, and Independent Imaging Centres. Our reach now extends beyond Poland, Hungary, Ireland and the UK, into Spain and as far as North America. This success hasn’t happened overnight, it has been the result of strategic focus by the Wierzbicki Family, Our Management Team, Operational excellence, and a commitment to solving problems in diagnostics and healthcare.
Our high-value partnerships and successes have enabled us to reinvest meaningfully in our Research & Development capabilities. This reinvestment has been pivotal, powering the evolution of our product from a single-solution platform to a more robust, Unified Healthcare solution that supports not only diagnostic imaging but a wider range of clinical and operational workflows. This cycle of success, where strong contract wins have led to increased investment in innovation, which in turn drives further growth, has resulted in consistent year-on-year revenue increase. It has also positioned Aptvision as one of the most adaptive and innovative leaders in diagnostic healthcare.
Supporting this trajectory, our team has grown significantly, expanding by over 150% since 2021 alone. But this isn’t growth for growth’s sake. We’ve been intentional in building a workforce with the right mix of clinical, technical, and operational expertise to meet the needs of a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape. This focus ensures we’re not only prepared to deliver on today’s commitments but ready to take on the opportunities that lie ahead.
